Rabobank Core Banking Migration

<h5>Project Scope</h5> <p>Following a 2013 stint at Rabobank as an Implementation Manager I was invited back to run their core banking upgrade project, migrating RaboDirect deposit products from their European Thaler banking platform and establish a high availability Temenos T24 core banking platform in their Sydney data centre.</p> <h5>Project Breakdown</h5> <p>Embraced agile delivery. Having just started their scaled agile journey (forerunner of SAFe™) and as the core banking project was their most prestigious and complex initiatives it was important that I championed the transition, leveraged their Jira and Confluence tools, and demonstrated unequivocally that agile works.</p> <p>Established resilient new infrastructure for their T24 Core Banking platform (while transitioning to DevOps) providing scalability to later migrate their deposit products. This included a refresh of the site recovery procedures, non-functional testing (performance and penetration), and updated the Business Continuity Plan.</p> <p>Developed a comprehensive data migration and implementation plan for the FutureTech program, which included new digital channel infrastructure and associated security components. It coordinated resources from Utrecht, Sydney and Auckland on a step-by-step basis. The run book was on a shared Excel document with support for multiple time zones, with a master tab fully integrated into individual tabs for each team and provided time-line updates as the implementation progressed.</p> <h5>Outcome / Benefit</h5> <p>The product and data migration from Thaler to T24 was successfully completed over the Easter weekend with minimal disruption to customers.</p> <p>By working collaboratively with the DevOps and digital teams, we successfully launched FutureTech, their digital portal into core banking products.</p>
